New Jersey Elections

This November 2nd is the New Jersey Governor Election and running against Phil Murphy (D) is Jack Ciattarelli (R) . Phil Murphy, New Jersey’s current governor, has followed through on many promises and has an extensive plan detailing what he wants to focus on if reelected. Since taking office in 2018 Murphy has attempted to grow New Jersey’s economy by way of lowering property taxes and investing in the people. In tackling COVID he was able to provide testing and vaccinations as well as hundreds of millions of dollars in relief for small businesses, schools, middle-class families, and tenants and landlords. He has pushed for legislation concerning social justice and restoring voting rights to New Jersey citizens who committed nonviolent crimes and were on probation or parole. He has also worked towards environmental change with the deployment of offshore-wind energy technology. If reelected for a second term he plans to focus on affordable housing, criminal justice reform, gun safety, healthcare, education, and more.

Among Jack Ciattarelli’s plans for New Jersey he hopes to lower property taxes by reforming the tax code to make buying houses more affordable, he wants to strengthen our economy by making it open and upgrading infrastructure, and he promises to stand with law enforcement by restoring respect for the law and protecting police and fire pensions. He also plans on making healthcare more affordable and protecting our rights and freedoms through fixing the immigration system, securing elections, and defending the rights of law abiding citizens. He has set his eyes on improving education and empowering parents by creating school based parent councils, he plans on giving back freedom to freelancers by getting rid of the ABC test, and he promises to work towards a cleaner environment and revitalizing our cities (To learn more about Ciattarelli’s plans click here).
