Clue Review

This December 2nd Pinelands Thespians held the opening night of their show, Clue, based on the popular board game made into a movie. As soon as the light’s dimmed and the curtains opened you were enthralled by the set design and then by the characters as they were one by one introduced. Before this I had never been to a play conducted at Pinelands and I was surprised by how professional it was and how well the actors performed. I thought everyone was casted very well and it was entertaining seeing how immersed they were in their character. For the most part the dialogue was well written and the humor clever, except for some repetitive everyone’s dumb jokes that got stale pretty quickly. I was also impressed with how remarkable the stage crew was at changing the scenery and how fast they were able to work in between scenes. When asked how well he thought the show went, Heron Boyd, who played the motorist, said that “The show went really well, even though everyone was really nervous, but we were all there for each other, and hoping for the best.” Overall the show was an enjoyable experience and it was nice to see just how much effort was put into this production by everyone involved.
