Coming this Spring is the second part of the Metal Tour of the Year with metal giants, Megadeth and Lamb of God, as well as guests Trivium and In Flames. This time around they will be touring North America. Following the departure of bassist David Ellefson from Megadeth, they have been touring with former bassist James LoMenzo and will continue to do so for this second tour. Coming this Spring they are also anticipating the release of their new album ‘The Sick, The Dying, … and the Dead!’ whose title track is about the plague, but not solely focused on the current pandemic. Instead it is focused on plagues and diseases throughout history. Working on the tracks alongside Dave Mustaine, Megadeth’s frontman, is drummer Dirk Verbeuren and guitarist Kiko Loureiro. The album also included bass tracks from Ellefson which Mustaine chose to remove. Trivium has also recently released a new album, In the Court of the Dragon, which topped charts in the United States for Current Rock Albums and Current Hard Music. They are also planning an upcoming tour in the U.K. for 2023. Guitarists Matt Heafy, who is also the lead vocalist for Trivium, and Corey Beaulieu have also recently been labeled Guitarists of the Year by Metal Injection. If you are interested in attending one of their events they will be playing in Allentown and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in May.
