Pinelands Clubs

Club Report:
As the 2021 school year takes off, A LOT has changed. Clubs and other extracurricular activities have been exceedingly popular and have increased in number of members. Yet, that doesn’t change how much they have managed and or influenced some of our favorite school events, such as homecoming and pep rallies!
What’s Going On Now?
Art Club:
As for the Art Club the members began working on their first project known as the Culinary mural outside of the Pinelands culinary classrooms. The club officially had their first event, “Hydro-dipping Pumpkins,”on October 14th.
Choral Director:
Dr. Atkins, the choral director, will be working with Chanson, Voice Male, Standing Ovations, to prepare for the winter and spring showcase.
English club:
So far the English Club is planning to raise awareness for Banned Books Week as well as continuing to donate books to free libraries. They’re also looking into Rutgers Bee research, where they will build bee homes.
FBLA Club:
In honor of thanksgiving, the FBLA club will be once again doing the thanksgiving food drive. In addition the club will be having guest speakers come in and talk about their experiences.
French Club:The french members have decided on participating in a cheese tasting in it’s upcoming meeting of different french cheeses along with chocolate truffles. This activity is done so that students can broaden their French tasting pallet.
History Club:
So far the History Club has discussed how they can bring the history honors society to Pinelands, and have decided on implementing a fall trip into Philadelphia. The club is looking forward to getting another guest speaker and a possible Christmas toy drive fundraiser.
Junior Class:
The Junior Class look forward to incorporating numerous fundraisers into this year, this includes Dress Down Day, T-shirt Sponsorship and That’s My Brick. The class of 2023 are diligently working on researching and getting the fundraisers listed below approved: a drive in movie, winter/Valentine’s dance, ornaments 2.0, a basket/gift auction, and hope to sell candy at lunch. The juniors will also be participating in the spaghetti dinner in the fall and spring. As senior year is inching closer the class of 2023 is planning dates for their junior prom and senior trip.
SADD:
SADD has worked on posters for Week of Respect as well as debated an activity for that week. Members have begun planning for Red Ribbon Week which takes place between October 25th- October 30th.
Science Club:
So far the Science Club has reviewed the bog project as well as the beautification project in the science halls by adding murals to the walls.
Spanish Club: The Spanish Club will be sponsoring its 9th Pulsera Project. The Pulsera Project is a nonprofit organization that educates, empowers, and connects Central American artists with students in more than 3,000 U.S. schools through the sale of colorful hand woven bracelets, or "pulseras" in Spanish. The Pulsera Project brightens U.S. schools with art and compelling cultural education while employing Nicaraguan & Guatemalan artisans and investing proceeds to create lasting change in Central American communities.
Surf Club:
So far into the school year, the Surf Club has set a wide range of goals as well as had their first workshop in which they practiced their balance. The club has organized activities such as: the Balance Board Workshop, Tarp Surfing/ Skate Dem, Surf Etiquette and Safety Training.
The Cat Eye:
The Cat Eye is organizing a project where the student crew started printing pictures and archives to display a timeline in the commons. They are also assigning student photographers and coming up with new ideas for teacher interviews.
Thespian Society:
Over the summer, members of the Society helped run “Act it Out Camp” as well as “Musical Theater Camp”. Recently the society has been focused on fall play auditions as well as possible fundraisers for the show. The Thespians are planning a haunted walkthrough pending approval from administration. Current active members are starting to prepare for our upcoming competitions, STANJ and Thespian Festival. Later in the year there will be a spring musical and Drama Paloozza.
Video/Tv Production Club: The Video Productions Club is hoping to help students accomplish creative projects such as short films and music videos. They are also interested in providing the drama department with an experienced video team to help document each night of their productions. A goal of theirs is to collect footage of student life around Pinelands to help contribute to the Wake Up Wildcats intro reel.
