On Saturday, October 2nd, Pinelands staff and students attended the homecoming dance in the commons. The building came alive with music, flashing lights, and food as hundreds came together to celebrate. It was a special event because of the strain covid-19 had (no pun intended) on many others’ social lives, so everyone was able to see each other once again in an environment that didn’t require studying, writing, or work.
The Homecoming queen, Bridget Dudas, was announced at the homecoming football game, as per Pinelands tradition. The King was announced at the dance, with much anticipation in the crowd as it was declared. James Cahill was the victor, and a clamorous applause erupted from the crowd as the Homecoming court stood on the commons steps.
A photographer snapped the royals as they made their way down the staircase. After the king was announced, the music resumed and the lights went dark. It was hard to hear over the booming music, but it was clear that everyone was in high spirits. It was a night to remember, even though it went by so fast.
