Let’s go Spring Sports! Friday, April 8th was a very special day. On this day the Spring Pep Rally was held and celebrated in the gymnasium. The special event was held by the student government, in honor of celebrating our spring sports (boys baseball, bowling, golf, and volleyball team, and for the girls, softball, lacrosse, flag football, track team, and athletes). The event had a successful turnout, inviting students of all grades and faculty to come. The crowds were beaming with joy, the teams were energetic, and the Wildcat spirit was alive, wild, and free. During this incredible celebration the students and faculty enjoyed some fun, energetic, and upbeat music from the school's band. Following the band's performance, the crowds of the event were serenaded gracefully with the National Anthem by the school's choir. After the National Anthem, members of our student council began to introduce the amazingly talented athletes that are participating in our schools spring sports. After celebrating each team individually, that’s when the fun games between grades had begun. Members of the student government, after countless hours of brainstorming games for the pep rally, were victorious in thinking of three games. The first game they played was head, shoulders, knees, Cup! One student from each grade was selected to play the game. Once selected, the students had to line up in front of each other with a cup in between them, and they would have to bend down and listen to the announcer for directions. The players would then have to touch their head, shoulders, knees and cup and the person who takes the cup first wins. After five rounds of the game, Matthew Davis won for the freshman class. The next game was tissue box twerk! In this game, like before, four students would be selected from each grade to represent that grade in the game. The game is played by having a tissue box taped around your body on the butt, and it's your job to twerk the balls out of the box. After a good two minutes of the players trying to dance the balls out of the box, Heron Boyd won for the senior class. And lastly, musical chairs was the last game to play. They called down four students from each grade and had them walk around the chairs until the music stopped. The game was vicious to watch, with everyone wondering who would win the final game of the pep rally. After a good five minutes, it was down to three players. Two seniors vs one junior, but sadly the junior was no match for the senior class. Anthony Riccardo was the winner of musical chairs. It was a wonderful event to celebrate with each grade and to pump the students up for the spring sports.
