Wildcats Pounce this Winter
By Collin Martin
The Pinelands Winter Sports have begun! In this addition, I will share information given by our very own Pinelands coaches. In this edition of Cat Chronicles, I will be talking about our winter teams for Boys/Girls Bowling, and our Wrestling team. Starting his 5th year as head coach on November 22, 2021 Coach Adelizzi is attempting to lead the wrestling team through a great season. His expectations are that they manage to finish above 500, and to qualify for February's Sectional Tournament. Coach Adelizzi hopes to follow these expectations with this year's 2022 Seniors Mateo Mena, Nick Muso, Eric Helfrich, Thomas Reilly, Thomas Exel, and Nik Rasmussen. We have high hopes that the wrestlers push through a great season! Next up on our sports schedule is Boys bowling! Coach Millar and the boys bowling team started on November 23, 2021 this is the mark of his 21st season as coach. Coach Millar is hoping that the boys bowling team can be in a range of over 500, and pull off a placement of second in the B South Conference. He is leading this season off with seniors Ethan Edwards, Mike Basile, and Quincy Basile. Lets see them pull off second place in this season's conference! FInally we come to our Girls Bowling run by Coach Becker. Coach Becker and the girls started their season on November 22 alongside our boys team. Our girls game against Lakewood ended with a varsity win 2-1, and JV win of 3-0. This season will start as Coach Becker's fifth coaching season. His expectations for the girls team is that they are as competitive as possible. This season they have ten new freshmen, Coach Becker hopes that his Seniors Angelina Papa and Caitlin Rodriguez can mentor them going forward in the season. Now let's give a virtual round of applause and Good luck to our winter teams as they push into the start of their seasons! Goodluck Wildcats!
